Funny thing is, ‘Jane’ wasn’t one of them.

I’ve been hearing some pretty shocking things about business coaching lately. So I thought I’d talk about how building your business is like playing the harp!

I truly care about transformational entrepreneurs building their business, so this information needs to be out there.

How Big a Game Are Playing?

I’ve been talking to a number of transformational entrepreneurs lately, because I’m starting a very special private coaching and mastermind group. All of the people that I talk to seem to want to participate, but I noticed a very different energy in some of them.

Most of the people who get on the phone with me about this group are serious. They want to build their businesses, they truly want to create something that makes a major difference in the world, and they know that although they have to do it themselves, they can’t do it alone.

Then there was one woman… let’s just call her ‘Jane’. She had lots of reasons why she couldn’t. Everything I suggested got an ‘I can’t, because…’ I had to think hard to figure out what it was about ‘Jane’, why she SAID she wanted her business to succeed, wanted to create the life of her dreams, but then gave all the reasons she couldn’t do it. I was trying to figure out why she was even on the phone with me.

And then it hit me. Jane wanted MY permission to play small.

She wanted me to say ‘It’s OK. I understand that coming up with the money to coach would be a struggle. I understand that you don’t feel like you have the support you need. I understand that you just can’t do it.’

And I wouldn’t do it.

Now, please understand that this was a tough decision for me. Part of what I do is to help people feel better using EFT tapping to remove negative, limiting emotions. A part of me wanted to just help Jane feel better, even if it limited her. Fortunately, I stopped myself.

You are free to choose for yourself whether you let your reasons stop you, or whether you go for results.

Just don’t ask me to hold a small space for you, and your life and business. That’s not what I do. I hold big spaces for people. I see you as you can be, all your possibility, all your potential. I know what incredible things you’re capable of, even if you don’t yet.

And when you surround yourself with people who hold this kind of space for you, miracles happen. You step into your greatness, you expand your reach, you help more people… oh, and did I mention you make more money too?

It’s challenging, it’s scary, it’s exhilarating to live in that environment. Once you experience it, there is no turning back. Stuff, all your STUFF, comes up in your face (that’s what tapping is for!) But the rewards are priceless.

You decide how you want to live, and work and dream. If you have trouble holding a big space for yourself, get some help. And when you’re looking to play big, I’m here, holding the space for you.

FutureExitIt’s no secret to entrepreneurs that the business world is changing, and FAST. Models that used to bring in clients and money no longer do, and you may feel confused and overwhelmed trying to keep up with all the current trends.

One element has now emerged as a leader in determining success, and that’s creating relationships. It’s always been important, but in this new world of information and opportunity overload, we’ll rely more and more on our relationships to inform us, to create truly valuable opportunities, and to clarify which pathways we should take.

The ability to initiate and nurture relationships is now one of the most important business skills you can develop. It’s also great fun to connect with new people, so you benefit yourself on several different levels.

Let’s look at two different ways to view relationships.

- Who do you relate to?
- How do you relate to them?

Of course, you’ll connect with your clients and prospective clients. Here are some other groups of people you’ll want to form relationships with:

- Competitors
- Complimentary businesses (those who serve your clientele in a different way than you do. An example might be chiropractors and massage therapists.)
- Vendors Your service providers (those people to whom you are a client)
- Associations who serve your clients
- Centers of influence – those people who know a lot of other people

How do you relate to them?

- In person (the best!)
- On the phone
- Social Media
- Via email or snail mail (least effective)

Too many transformational entrepreneurs hide behind their computers, and communicate only via email. They tend not to reach out, on the phone or better yet, in person, yet meeting people face-to-face makes a profound difference in their feeling of relationship to you.

Who do you need to reach out to? Make a list of people that you’d like to connect with, and take on contacting at least 3 a week. Suggestions include inviting local connections to lunch, going to a live event such as a conference or workshop, or calling new contacts and asking for a brief ‘get acquainted’ appointment.

If this all feels too scary, too overwhelming, or like something that you don’t have time for, use Meridian Tapping to work on these beliefs. Don’t let your fears and limiting beliefs hold you back from this important business activity.

In the businesses of the future, those who relate will succeed. You can be one of them!
